Report: Google To Launch Conventional "Preroll" Advertising On YouTube

Nobody in social media is making the money they think they should be. That would include YouTube if you put the site into the social media bucket. But if you see YouTube instead as the dominant video site online instead then arguably it’s revenues, reportedly to reach about 0 million this year, are really lagging.

One of the hallmarks of YouTube has been its user-centric focus to the exclusion of… Continue reading

Google Maps To Add Walking Directions?

Google Operating System reports that Google Maps is testing out walking directions in some locations. I was personally not able to replicate the walking directions, but Ionut has a screen capture as proof.

We all know Ask.com had walking directions, but when Ask.com killed off their maps product, they also killed off the walking directions. Neither Yahoo or Microsoft Live Search currently offer walking directions.

Search Volume Comes To Google Keyword Tool & Live Search Updates

The most recent privacy debacle was the Viacom-YouTube ruling, which is being circumvented by cooperation between the parties. Lively New Virtual World From Google

In a way it’s very un-Google. The new Lively 3D “virtual world” that launched today is perhaps another run at social networking after the mixed experience of Orkut (popular in Brazil and India, among a few other places). Apparently aimed at teens and even tweens, cutting their virtual teeth on sites like Webkinz and Club Penguin, Lively is apparently the product of the long-rumored Google Metaverse project
